Who are Bathory?

The band

Bathory formed in Vällingby, Sweden, in 1983, named after the Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory. Quorthon was the one constant member, at times playing every instrument himself, and his first four albums became a blueprint for Scandinavian black metal before Blood Fire Death and Hammerheart opened the way to Viking metal. Quorthon died in June 2004. Bathory Merch puts the goat, the logo and the album art on tees, hoodies and sweatshirts.
